About Raymond

Ray is a solicitor at Eoin C Daly Mallon LLP with a specialist interest in the areas of general practice, specifically including intercountry adoption and end-of-life care.

Ray is a qualified solicitor since 1976. Ray was appointed by the Chief Justice of Ireland as a Notary Public in 1982. Ray qualified as a mediator with CEDR (The International Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution in London) and has recently become the first solicitor in Ireland to be awarded a Masters from UCC School of Medicine and Midwifery in End-of-Life Healthcare Ethics.

Ray regularly advises on complex cross-jurisdiction issues and is familiar with the implications of the European Union Directive concerning EU Succession Regulation, where clients have estates in more than one European Union country.

Experience

As a Notary Public with particular knowledge and experience of the Hague Convention abolishing the requirement of legalisation of foreign public documents and the Hague Convention on the protection of children and co-operation in respect of inter-country adoption, Ray has been assisting clients in a range of non-contentious matters involving international business since 1982. 

Ray has extensive experience involving the international registration of maritime vessels, ships protests under Mercantile Law, protesting Bills of Exchange and the certification of documents issued by the Irish National Regulatory Authorities in support of the export of pharmaceutical, medical, veterinary and associated products.

Ray regularly deals with the Department of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Embassies, both in Dublin and London, and the Arab-Irish Chamber of Commerce.

Ray is a qualified mediator and is accredited by the Centre of Effective Dispute Resolution (London) with particular interest and experience in the mediation of commercial disputes.

Ray has worked extensively in the area of inter-country adoption with particular experience in relation to the Adoption Act, 2010 and the Hague Convention of 29th May 1993 – Hague Convention on the Protection of Children and Co-Operation in respect of inter-country Adoption working in conjunction with accredited agencies for China, Vietnam, United States of America and a number of other countries.

Ray was the first Solicitor in Ireland to be awarded an MSc, NUI-UCC in End of Life Healthcare Ethics and has a particular interest in end-of-life healthcare, ethical and legal issues, specifically including Advance Healthcare Directives, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Wills.

A Notary Public is a public officer who will serve the public in non-contentious legal matters, usually concerned with foreign or international business. A Notary Public is appointed following the completion of examination and subsequent appointment by the Chief Justice of Ireland. As a Notary Public Ray, with his particular experience of the Hague Conventions, has been assisting clients involving international matters since 1982.
